Websites for trades in Jersey

Websites for plumbers and electricians in Jersey

On an island this small, a plumber or electrician lives on recommendation. A website gives the person who was told your name somewhere to check you out and ring you.

What matters for your trade here.

Word of mouth, then a search

In Jersey most trades work comes from someone in the parish mentioning your name. The next thing that person does is type it into their phone. If nothing comes up but a Facebook page, some of them ring the next name. A simple site with your number, your parishes and a few photos closes that gap.

Older houses, granite and sea air

Jersey has a lot of older granite houses and coastal properties where damp, salt and old wiring are everyday jobs. Say what you are used to: rewires in older homes, heating in draughty farmhouses, outdoor sockets that survive a winter by the sea. Specific words like that are what a worried owner in Trinity or St Peter is searching for.

Summer lets and second homes

Plenty of Jersey properties are holiday lets or homes that sit empty part of the year, and their owners are often off island. They want a trade they can trust to go in, fix it and send a photo. A line on your site about working with managing agents and absent owners speaks straight to them.

See your business on a website before you pay a penny.

Tell us what you do and Charlie builds you a free preview on one of our designs. If you like it, it goes live on your own web address for £99 then £20 a month. If you don’t, you owe nothing.

What your website looks like.

The layout

Your name at the top, your headline on a bold colour band, your services in clear cards, a section about you and a big phone number at the bottom so a customer can ring you straight from their phone.

Your photos

Four photo spots, made for you at work, a finished job, your van and another job you are proud of. Until you add yours, free example photos show you how it looks.

Good to know.

Can the site show I am registered and insured?

Yes. Whatever registrations and insurance you hold go on the site in your own words, with the certificate numbers if you want. We do not add any scheme logo you have not sent us, because an island this size notices a claim that is not true.

Which parishes should I list?

The ones you actually cover, in the order you prefer. Most island trades cover the whole island, so we say that plainly, then name the parishes you are usually in. Charlie can sit down with you and work the wording out.

I get most of my work from Facebook. Why would I need a site?

Keep the Facebook page. The site is the fixed place your name points to when someone searches, and it does not get buried under other posts. Your Facebook link sits on it, so the two work together.

How much does it cost?

£99 for the website, then £20 a month hosting. £119 gets it live: the site plus your first month.

How quickly is it live?

Within 48 hours of payment, on your own web address.

Can I change it later?

Yes. You get your own login to change the words and photos whenever you like, and we make small changes for you when you ask.

Questions first?

Ring or message Charlie. Happy to talk it through before you start.
