Wix vs GoDaddy website builder
Price in year one and two, design control, speed, and what happens if you leave.
See the templatesThe short answer: GoDaddy is quicker to get something live; Wix gives you more control once it is. GoDaddy's first year price is lower and the renewal is higher. Neither lets you take the pages with you.
Price
Wix Core is £16 a month and stays there. GoDaddy's builder is cheaper in year one on an offer and more on renewal, and the exact figure changes often enough that you should read the renewal line before you pay. Both charge extra for selling online.
Design
Wix: drag anything anywhere, which is freedom and a trap. GoDaddy: pick a section, fill it in, limited tweaking. If you are not a designer, GoDaddy's limits can be a help.
Speed
Both are fine on a laptop. On a phone with a weak signal, both carry a lot of code. A plain static page is quicker than either.
Leaving
Neither exports the site. Both let you move the domain if it is in your name. Check that before you pay.
