How driving instructors get pupils without paying for leads
Lead sites charge per pupil. Your own page gets the same searches for a fixed monthly cost.
See the templatesThe short answer: the pupils that lead sites sell you came from a Google search for "driving instructor" and a town. A page of your own, with your areas, your prices and your pass rate on it, catches the same searches. It costs a fixed amount a month instead of a cut of every pupil.
Why independent instructors lose the search
The big schools rank for your town because they have a page for every area. An independent instructor with no website, or a Facebook page, is not in the running. The fix is not a big site. It is one page that says where you teach, what you charge and how to book, so Google has something to show.
What a driving instructor's page needs
- The areas you cover, by name. Pupils search by area, so say the areas
- Your prices per hour and per block, and whether you do intensive courses
- Manual, automatic or both
- Your pass rate if it is good, and your DVSA grade
- Reviews from pupils, with first names
- Your phone number at the top and a book button
Pupils are often nervous. A line saying you are patient with nervous drivers gets more calls than any list of qualifications.
What it costs
Lead generation sites typically charge per pupil or a monthly fee with no guarantee. A website builder is £16 to £17 a month and you build it, checked on 2 October 2026. Our driving instructor template is £99 to set up and £20 a month, with your web address and hosting included and small changes done for you.
Do this as well
A free Google Business Profile set to the areas you cover is what puts you on the map in the first place. Add the website to it and the two work together.
See it with your name on it. Our driving instructor template is £99 then £20 a month. Fill it in for free and only pay when you want it live.
