Can I get a free website for my business?
What free gets you, what it costs you in other ways, and the cheapest option that is actually yours.
See the templatesThe short answer: yes, and it will have someone else's adverts on it and an address like yourbusiness.wixsite.com. For a hobby that is fine. For a business the free site costs you in trust, and the paid step up is small.
What free gets you
- A page on Wix, Weebly or Google Sites
- Their branding on it, and often their adverts
- An address under their name, not yours
- No padlock on your own domain, because you have no domain
Free things worth doing
- A Google Business Profile. Free, and the most useful listing a local business has
- A Facebook page for your existing customers
- Filling in one of our templates to see how it would look. Free until you want it live
The cheapest option that is yours
Your own .co.uk is under £10 a year. The cheapest paid builder plan is £16 a month. Our template site is £99 then £20 a month with the domain included, and it is in your name, with no adverts and no minimum term.
A fair test
Would you hand a customer a business card with someone else's logo on it? That is what a free site is. If the business is real, the site should be too.
